School Council
At Arbor we have 2 councils; The School Council and The Eco Council.
The School Council
The School Council is made up of an elected member from each class, the Head Boy and Head Girl, the Head Teacher and a nominated staff teacher.
The purpose of the council is to raise issues of interest to further the development of the school. Meetings occur twice each term and it is the responsibility of each pupil member to report back to his/her class and to discuss matters arising from the meetings.
Issues discussed can vary widely from school meals to discipline. All are aimed at improving the school for the benefit of both staff and pupils.
The Eco Council
The Environment is something that we all passionately care about here at Arbor. So for us it was a natural council to form and has been an active part of school life for many years.
Our Eco Council members are elected from each class and these pupils are joined by the Head Teacher and the member of staff responsible for the Wildlife Club.
Meetings happen twice each term and are aimed at raising the ecological awareness and activities within the school.
The council has been involved in setting up further recycling projects within the school as well as activities such as rubbish audits, reduction of energy usage and monitoring of food waste.
