Core Subjects

Within Upper Prep the National Curriculum is followed throughout, with the Montessori philosophy supporting the learning approach.

Language areas covered include comprehension, grammar and creative writing with regular assessment in all areas.

Topics covered in Mathematics include fractions, multiplication, division and measuring. Again all areas are regularly assessed.

In Upper Prep all Science lessons are taught by Dr. Pilsworth, our resident Head of Science, within our specialist dedicated facilities.

Again, the topics covered are approached with as much ‘hands on’ experience as possible, allowing pupils to both create and test hypotheses. As with other core subjects, there are regular assessments of all the topics covered.
